Philadelphia Museum of Art
The Philadelphia Museum of Art is the city's encyclopedic art museum at the top of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Its Sensory Friendly Mornings invite individuals on the autism spectrum or with sensory sensitivities to explore part of the museum before busy public hours (listed mornings run 9–10 a.m.), with a low-sensory zone for quiet breaks, fidgets and noise-cancelling headphones to borrow, and occupational therapy student volunteers on hand; a photo-illustrated Social Story is emailed to registered participants beforehand, and the mornings are free with advance registration. The museum's family festival pages also list a drop-in Sensory-Friendly Quiet Zone in the Eli Kirk Price Room.
