Build-A-Bear Workshop — Sensory-Friendly Time
Build-A-Bear runs a weekly low-stimulation version of its bear-making Workshop for children with autism and other special needs. For the first open hour every Tuesday, stores dim the lighting and play little or no music, and a step-by-step guide lets families plan the whole experience in advance. All ages and siblings are welcome at all Workshop locations, suiting families who want the normal activity without the usual noise and brightness.

Before you go
- Program-level record only; no address or phone (venue-level data). The page's own hedge — 'currently planned to occur' — plus varying store opening times means the clock time differs by location; the page advises talking to an associate to check store hours and plan the visit. Older third-party copies describe a first-Tuesday-of-the-month cadence; the current official page says every Tuesday, and the official page governs. The step-by-step informational guide is counted as socialStory evidence in filters because it is the chain's own advance visual/written walkthrough of the visit sequence; the chain calls it an 'informational guide', not a social story. — Build-A-Bear Workshop — Sensory-Friendly Time page, 2026-10-28
